1) Don't be shy and ask people who look like they know what they are doing why they are doing it, sometimes they will get nasty and tell you to bugger off but it is worth a try !

2) Never wear anything black, black wasn't invented as a colour untill 1982.

3) Your clothing depending on rank is always muted, the higher your status the deeper the colour.

4) When you start reenacting for the first time, start as a slave for the first 6 months, so you dont have to fork out a fortune on stuff for a higher status persona. Ask around off your group and stuff will flow your way in terms of clothing weapons ect.
