Love it or hate it Living History is part and parcel of Dark Age reenacting, as well as any other time period- D'uh !
I personally enjoy the Living History side of things so much so that my wife and I bought a period tent and associated stuff to live the life- so to speak.
To get into Living History ain't cheap, and the old saying - 'if you buy cheap you buy twice !', rings true on so many levels. We have managed to avoid some of the financial pitfall's that alot of reenactors make, more by good luck rather than design. I will post things to do and things to avoid in the 'Tips' section. Anyway my friends Alison and Dai are experts in Living History and Alison will be offering some sound advice soon on this page so keep watching.
This is our first season as Living History bods and each event is throwing us very positive learning curves, fortunatly for us, our group's Living History Theign is Nick Ward, so in terms of having a mentor and an excellent role model we have the very best, abely ( is that a word or did I just make it up ? ) support by Carol his partner. So as each event rolls by we are getting better and better.

Above, part of our group at Corfe Castle June 08. The best part of reenacting and Living History is when the public go home and we can crack a beer open and enjoy the surroundings and sleep and stay in some of the most beautifull historical sites in the U.K.
I love it I do, and so dose my wife !!
